Checks and Balances of A Spirit Medium
On Facebook this morning, Marley Gibson, author of The Ghost Huntressseries, did a posting of people needing to be sure of correct use of the words “there”, “their”, and “they’re”! I immediately was horrified that I had been the guilty party of doing this in my blog! And it’s only my fourth day! lol One of my pet peeves is when people do not use any punctuation or capitalization in whatever it is they are writing. So thank you Marley for keeping us all on our toes! Perhaps someone reading the occasional grammar/punctuation comment will begin to remember their “p’s and q’s”.
As it is with the writing/grammar check, so it is with a spirit medium’s mind. I’ve been told, “Lynda, you just need to have confidence in your gift. Accept what you see!”
I’m hearing you loud and clear, but I think I’ve come a long way in that “confidence” area. For goodness sakes, I’ve got the blog going…lol But I have my own checks and balances. Just like all of you, I am human; full of human flaws. My imaginative mind can get carried away! Guess what? I can make spirits appear in my mind! I can even come up with a “yes” or “no” answer for ya on those life situation questions. If you want me to, I can get as creative as you want me to in giving you a name of your spirit guide. (and reader, if you’re chuckling and rolling your eyes on this one….as I tell my elementary students…”Kiss Your Brain!”)
I have a wild imagination, and can be as serious or goofy as you want me to be.
“No, Lynda, I mean how do you make a spirit appear?”
By simply thinking of them or the situation. This is what was happening last night. I kept thinking of a certain spirit simply because I had been discussing the situation that included this little one. Was she really there? Was she trying to tell me something? I do not think so.
“Lynda, how can you be sure?”
I’m not. If I get a frantic phone call from the homeowner in the next few days, I’ll know by her appearance she was giving me heads up on the situation. The little girl did come to me a couple of times of this past weekend, which brought up the discussion with a close friend last night. Because of me talking about her and the situation, I am going to conclude that last night was simply me thinking of her; not a true visit.
“So how do you know when it is real?”
The tell all signs used to be that my face would contort and look like a prune. Seriously! My forehead and nose would just “squoosh” together, and I wouldn’t be able to help it. Think of trying to drive on the highway on those mornings or evenings when the sun is right in direct line of sight! So, I would try to wear sunglasses, but then, I was too self conscious on that end. Who did I think I was? A Diva?
I always wondered how the psychic medium, John Edward, did his group thing without making faces. Then I realized he always seemed to be rubbing his hands. Well, somehow, I got the “energies” to go through the hands. What happens now? My hand, which ever side the spirit is coming in on, will shoot up like a spirit antenna. It’s embarrassing, but it’s my “antenna.”
I try to keep my hands folded or somehow hidden away from everyone’s sight, but that is about as effective as trying to hide Rudolph’s red nose. If something is there, the antennas are going to shoot up. Making a face as if I need some Exlax or worrying about flying hands…..I’ll take the latter. Thank you very much.
I haven’t been to any auctions, so that’s one less thing to worry about.
Alas, the checks and balances of being a spirit medium.
